long exposure

a few night ago i heard a spanish radio station broadcasting with loud speakers on main st. i decided to go see what was going on, but it ended up being one dude talking really loudly through huge speakers, to about 12 people standing right there.. kinda entertaining, but i decided to walk to the bus station instead and  try out some long exposures.. it was very eventful, got offered two different photography jobs, and a chance to get rich with my screen printing, and hassled by the fuzz.... it was awesome..

i had my camera resting on the electrical street light box for these exposures and the sherriff's swooped on me..i showed em what i was doing and they were cool, you can see their flashing lights in the pic..

i recently upgraded my digital camera from my trusty rebel xti, to a 60d. so i've been takin lots of pictures and videos.. .. also, i submitted one my snow photo's to the register guard (local paper) and to my surprise, it was in the paper today.. that was awesome! its the one on main st with the snow and footprints..I doubt if i wouldn't have had a new camera , that i would have ran out into the snowstorm to take pictures.. a few randoms

i hadn't done any basketweaves since my daughter was born 3 months ago.. i took almost 2 months off of glassblowing and when i started back up i just couldn't bring myself to do weaves.. wasnt ready for the commitment and the focus it took.. i did some one piecers, an encalmo set, then i lost(broke) a week long  encalmo double bubbler.. came back the next day and decided i was ready to start stackin chips again..

i've had these chips laying out since august, they were all arranged in the patterns i had set up months ago, but covered in dust..i cleaned them all up..one by one. and re layed them out in new patterns, with a new level of patience that i didnt realize i had... i think these are my nicest weave work so far.. simple sherlocks, but really elegant, really clean, and really refreshing.. i love these pieces and loved making them...

snow!!!

first time in 18 months it has snowed here.. when you have to deal with the cold anyway, and dont need to drive, the snow is amazing!!! its a sound and feeling of time stopping.. so silent.. when it first began to fall(around midnight) the train was passing so you could here silence and the train wheels at the same time.. mesmerizing.. it came in fast, and i knew it would melt fast, so i went out right as it first came in, then got up early to go enjoy it before it all melted..
